Context

The blockchain division needs to tokenize real-world assets (media rights, event tickets). Need a chain with low fees + regulatory clarity.

Options

Option 1: Polygon (L2 Ethereum)

• Pros: Low fees, EVM tooling, UAE regulatory sandbox friendly
• Cons: Dependency on Ethereum L1

Option 2: Custom chain (Cosmos SDK)

• Pros: Full control, sovereignty
• Cons: 12+ mo build, no ecosystem

Decision

Polygon. Speed to market + regulatory sandbox fit. Revisit if volume scales 100x.

Consequences

• Eng learns Solidity + Polygon tooling
• Need custody partner (licensed)
